My Reactions:

Do you like the cute pandas? Now, we don’t need to go for thousand miles to see them because Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan are coming. Their names mean reunion in Chinese, some people look these two presents from Beijing as the conspiracy which Mainland China wants to sovereignty over Taiwan.

However, I don’t think so. Actually, pandas are so precious that many developed countries want to buy or borrow from Beijing government. In fact, Japan desires the cute animal. Many decades ago, Mainland China had once sent them one as a gift for becoming friends. However, several years ago, the old panda died so the Japan government wanted to buy one from Beijing, even borrowed because the old panda helped them increase the income of the zoo. Unfortunately, China didn’t agree. There are still many countries want to borrow pandas from China like America, but they don’t agree. However, this time, they give them as present to us without any expense.

As the result, I think these two panda are definitely the good mention from Beijing government. Maybe they have many conspiracies, but at least they are using the most peace way to improve the relationship between two sides. I don’t have any political conscious of the issue. In my mind, I just glad that people can deal things with a harmony heart instead using violent and armed forces. (230 words)

Heavy snorers 'burn more energy'

My Reaction:

US researchers found that those who have worse apnoea symptoms burned 373 extra calories a day. It seems great that those people don’t need to go on a diet or do exercise diligently and they can burn their calories easily. However, the symptoms can be a sign of a far more serious problem for the snorers. Sleep apnoea, in which the airways are partially or completely obstructed during sleep, stops the person getting a good night’s rest, making them very sleepy during the day.

Actually, I don’t have such problems so I can’t understand the pain they suffer. I have read the report that it say snorers are easily to get many diseases such as high blood pressure, cardiopathy, and etc. If you don’t take good care of your body, then the situation may become worse by smoking, being fat, using drugs, and inheriting. By the way, sleep ours is also significant to the problem, enough sleep time is very important to everyone no matter you are snorer or not.

We should take it more seriously, after all, it is the symptoms that found from our body and it definitely indicate some problem from our bodies. Moreover, the apnoea symptoms will decrease your sleep quality and make you demotivate to do exercise. As the result, the problem is serious so if you have the persecution, try to improve it immediately. (250 words)

My Reactions:

Two drug officials have concluded that there are at least four hugely popular Asthma drugs which may cause risk death. These drugs are usually used in asthmatic diseases. The research indicates that these ingredients should not be used by people age 17 and under.

There are many reasons why caused Asthma such as directly infected by parents, the weather, medicines, mental pressure, and so on. Even some of them will become allergic of some kind of foods and things. However, Advair, Symbicort, Serevent, and Foradil are the most effective drugs which are used prevalently to cure Asthma.

In today’s medicines, many of them are produced by Steroids and Antibiotics. As a result, they will cause burden to organs seriously but they are easy to use and have obviously effects when used to cure patients. Although these ingredients are useful, they also easy to harm our body and bring a lot of side effects. I think the technology is well developed and we can use it to discover new medicine or to make them by ourselves. It’s necessary to find a new way to provide little side-effect drugs for patients. Therefore, we can cure them in a faster way to decrease the expense of wasting resources. (233 words)

My Reaction:

Image that if you have a twin sibling. You can do a lot of things together such as playing games, doing homework, and sharing everything what you have. However, if your twin sibling has shared a body with you, what kind of things would happen? In England, a young couple that the wife is only 18 year-old gave birth to their twin babies, Hope and Faith. Nevertheless, they were joined the same body from breastbone to the top of the navel and had a shared liver but separate hearts.

Actually, Hope was died because she was not strong enough to bear the operation, but she tried her best to keep her life continuing. Although Faith is still alive, she has to overcome many unknown challenges. Once, I have read something interesting about the twins that almost twins have metapsychosis. They will even be affected if the other one was dead. As a result, I think Faith perhaps can feel that she has lose something in her life but she will never know if her parents don’t tell her.

Another interesting phenomenon is that the mother of them is in a really young age. It indicates that the more and more adolescents have tried to sex when both their mental and body are not mature enough. I think one of the reasons is because of the opening social atmosphere. Maybe you will be teased because you haven’t had any sex experience in that age. Another one is that it is much more convenient and easier to get sex knowledge such as from the Internet and mass media. We have to be serious to the issue or it will definitely cause numerous social problems in the future. In summary, we have to think again and again before doing everything and don’t be control by our impulses. (304 words)

My Reaction:

I think many people have shocked by the news because of the crazy father’s behavior. He had raped his daughter who was made pregnant 19 times for 27 years. However, he didn’t feel guilty after he was taken into custody. In addition, he was also accused of imprisoning his mother in the attic in his house until she died.

Astonishingly, the mother had totally had no idea about her husband’s behavior and she believed that her daughter was lost outside. We have to look it very seriously that why our society has become like that? In fact, we can’t image that why those people’s values have changed and become so evil. In my opinion, no matter how angry you are or what do you been insulted, all of us should still respect others lives. There is no any reason can deprive of the authority of anyone’s life including our family, friends, and even strangers.

I think we have to learn how to get along with others with a considerate heart. It’s not a correct way to treat other people like that especially family. By educating our next generation, we can have more opportunities to make our life and atmosphere become innocent and unsophisticated. In the confused society, we should take more time to build up the right conception of our whole life. (241 words)

My Reaction:

The economy crisis has influenced all over the world including Taiwan. Because of the low prosperity, the government decides to disturb NT$3,600 shopping vouchers to each of the nation citizens early next year. Now, there are many different opinions about the government’s new policy. Some people agree the policy because they think it will be a good way to spur the consumption. However, the others boycott it for they think the government should give people tax rebates or cash instead of wasting money to printing the coupons.

In my perspective, I think the Ma government is trying to save our economy but I disagree with using this way. First, where the money come from? Actually, the government’s money is ours because we pay the tax and they have money to do things for us. Second, we have to spend more money to print the shopping vouchers.
In other words, I admire the spirit that they want to improve our situation positively, but I think the policy is implemented hastily without deliberate consideration.

Maybe they can use the way to distribute the coupons that can discount the price. Thus, people will use the money in their pocket and it will definitely spur the low prosperity. However, the government’s policy will not stop and my advice is useless for them. In summary, it will be nice to me or other university students to have extra money without earning by ourselves. It seems the special “red envelop” gave from the government. (247words)

Dealing with death the Mexican way

My Reactions:
Are you afraid of death? If your answer is yes, then what are you afraid of? I think many people will answer that I haven’t made my dreams come true, I haven’t earned enough money, I haven’t enjoyed my life yet, etc. The image of death in Chinese culture is always disappointed and dreadful. Usually, black is the best color to describe the feeling in people’s heart.

However, in Latin America, especially in Mexico, they image death in a totally different way. They don’t fear dying but they don’t recommend, either. Interestingly, they think it offers opportunities and challenges. Therefore, they celebrate it to as a chance to pass into a afterlife, and they do some artefacts to show their thinking about death. They even have a museum to exhibit these artefacts.

In my opinion, I’m also afraid of the noun. It seems that everything is over in one second. As I am young, I haven’t done anything in my life yet. Maybe it’s the reason why I fear for thinking about that. On the other hand, death is not the end of my life because it is a necessary process that everyone will have. The thing we have to pay much more attention to is whether we live every day richly or not. I think the death won’t be so scared if my life is rich and happy, and I can do everything I interest in. As a result, I think I can treat death in a more optimistic way. (251words)

North Korea threatens to turn South Korea into 'debris' as relations sour

With misunderstanding and selfishness, it’s easy to make war between two hostile countries. I can’t explain the exactly reason why these two countries, North Korea and South Korea, will become like this, but I can tell you it is an irrational behavior.

We always say we are king of all the animals which means we should have much wisdom, judgment, and ration. In the civilized world, violence should be forbidden including wars. No matter what happen, war is the most backward way to negotiate with each other even if they use high-technology weapons. These two countries, North Korea and South Korea, are in this situation. They use nuclear weapons to force both side to order commands. Wars will destroy the world peace which is hard to maintain now and break incalculable families. In fact, I can’t image what my life will be if any country and Taiwan go to war.

On the other hand, no matter how we dislike the country, we still have to respect them. Actually, people in that country have their own rights to choose the regime. Just like both sides of Korea, they are in totally different regimes which are democracy and communism. I think South Korea government’s behavior will absolutely provoke North Korea’s. Maybe the both of leaders care about the nation sovereignties and want to use armed strength to force the other side to change their regime to become unified country. I believe there will be a better solution about these problems and make our world more peace and harmonious. (282 words)

My Reaction:
Taiwan has many beautiful scenery but most of us have not explored them yet. Also, I haven’t visited Taichung since I moved into NCHU’s dorm. By riding bike to visit a place, I think it is very healthy and save energy. Therefore, the bicycle path is an useful facility to everyone who wants to ride bike through fields or explore another new world.

I have read a search report from England energy experts indicating that perhaps all the transportations including airplanes, trains, ships, etc, using fossil fuels will become extremely expansive in 2030 because the sources of energy is getting not enough. That’s the reason why bicycles are so popular right now. The first reason to ride a bike is that we can save the earth and prevent the world problems such as Global Warming and Green House from becoming more and more serious. We just to step on the pedals and it will move on. It is the advantage that bikes don’t need any fuel to keep it moving. There is another reason that exercise makes everyone healthy. Actually, riding a bike can be an exhausting exercise.

On the other hand, it’s really relaxed when we bike through those magnificent views in country or field. I always want to have a simple trip like that; I don’t need luxury hotel or prosperous shopping area. All I want is to be with nature and wash out unhappiness. Irrefutable, exercising and viewing scenery are good ways to release pressure. How long have you not been with nature? Depart now and don’t forget to ride bicycle instead driving. (267words)

Icelanders feel chill of banking meltdown

My Reactions:
It really shocked me when I knew the news of Iceland’s financial trouble. Iceland used to be the fourth place of high national income in the world and got the poll of “the most comfortable living area” last year. However, it has become one of the victims of the national financial meltdown because about 70% of its works are about banking. That’s the reason why the financial meltdown which was caused by America subprime mortgage crisis would have such severe impact.

It is a serious problem that what will we do if we encounter the problem? I think it’s not a good solution to borrow money from other countries. The foreign loans will become another big problem even if the country has passed the crisis temporarily. However, Iceland government borrowed about NT 176 billion dollars to overcome the difficulties. The other important strategy which the government should do immediately is to redeem people’s confidence to the administrations and themselves.

Unfortunately, it will be a hard time for Iceland residents. Now they are going to pay their debts of cars, departments, and so on, by the Icelandic currency which plummets. Some people describe the current situation almost like 911 again. It indicates that people extremely worried and anxious about their further life. In my opinion, the financial meltdown will keep causing other problems to different countries and Iceland just emerges first. It will definitely make another panics in the whole world.(240 words)

Drug violence kills at least 49 in Tijuana this week

My Reactions:
The drag violence in Tijuana, Mexico has become more and more serious. The police have found nine more bodies dumped around Mexico border city of Tijuana. Astonishingly, it’s nearly 50 people have been killed in a week because of the violence of drug trade.

It’s confused me that selling drug is illegal and why those people are still trying to use violence? They attack not only their targets but also innocent crowds. They use curly way to kill people by execution-style killings, beheading, and throwing the grenades into crowds of revelers. Dose it indicate that the police don’t do well on their job or they don’t have enough authorities? The drug gangs are too arrogant. They don’t have the right to decide other’s live because of drugs. I think the laws of controlling drugs have to become much more forbidding. Not to mention that we have to give them severe penalties to restrain commit crime.

In my opinion, drug smuggling has to be forbidded and the coast police should check on more seriously. Drug addiction and violence are just like a chronic disease and don’t have any medicine to cure. We have to try our best to improve the situation and don’t let our society’s problem become an incurable malady. On the other hand, the other effective way to solve the problem is to give our next generation correct conceptions about these stuffs such as drug, alcohol, cigarette, and etc. It’s necessary to teach everyone, especially adolescents, to understand the consequence of having or even addicting to these evil stuffs and don’t let them go on a wrong way.(269 words)

Woman goes raw, loses more than half herself

It’s may be really effective way to lost weight if we eat raw foods. The woman, Angela Stokes, who eats raw foods for two years loses 162 pounds(72.9 kilograms).I am not surprise about the news, but I am consider about something else.

It’s not astonished that how many pounds of people's weight have been losed. First, is it really a healthy way to go on a diet? These raw vegans only eat uncooked and unprocessed vegetables, nuts, and seeds. They don’t eat meet or any animal food, and they may run the risk of lacking of vitamin 8-12 and other diseases. In my opinion, going on a diet doesn’t mean we have to use the radical ways to lose weights very fast. By regular exercise and having balance diet, we still can be much more slender in a healthy way.

Second, I think we should look at the problem seriously that why people, especially women, always want to go on a diet even if they are in a good shape, and why heavy girls want to become slender? I think it is not a health conception in people’s mind. No matter we are fat or thin, we should have more confident on ourselves and other sides, not always judge anything by the outlook. Our value is not basic on how we look or how we weight. Just be ourselves and don’t follow the wrong diet wave.
